Dr. Paul Evans was born in Chicago and grew up in California and South Carolina. Educated as a psychologist, researcher and software designer, after graduate school he became a policy analyst/psychologist for the state of South Carolina, Office of Programs for the Handicapped, and later, a policy analyst/program evaluator at the National Science Foundation (NSF) in Washington, DC. Following NSF, he was recruited by IBM to develop and evaluate educational software and help launch the first IBM PC. Later he became a partner, founder and CEO in IBM’s Fireworks Partners Venture Group responsible for IBM’s Digital Publishing Studio, MMPS. After IBM he joined the international consulting firm, AT Kearney, as Partner for Internet and Electronic Commerce in Washington, DC. Dr. Evans was recruited from Kearney to the New York City advertising powerhouse, Young and Rubicam where he accepted the position of Executive Vice President Worldwide, in charge of digital strategy and the Marketing Lab which he co-founded with Lester Wunderman. Paul was also co-founder and partner at IRIWP (a publishing and IP development firm) and Genomics International, providing partnering and advisory services for health-related investments in genetic testing. Paul’s current interest is supporting early stage ventures by collaborating with start-up companies and angel investors and providing pro-bono advertising and marketing services.
